From a Lifelong Love of Dogs to Professional Care: Goodwoof’s Journey of Passion and Dedication

She loves her walks with you and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with her.

Goodwoof dog walking was founded by me, Michelle in 2020, out of my love of dogs.

I’ve grown up with dogs since a young child, helping a friend who bred Dalmatians and I was then invited to participate in Junior Handling competitions. I loved nothing better than climbing in the boot of the car with my packed lunch and four Dalmatians, (those were the days no health and safety). Lunch was usually shared with the dogs and eaten by 9.30, but I loved it. Going to Crufts with three Dalmatians on the London Underground, threw the snow was an interesting day, running through the traffic to get to Windsor Royal Show so that we wouldn’t miss my group was all part of the fun. That moment when you’re in the show ring and your dog is connecting only with you it’s the most amazing feeling of unity, there can be a thousand people watching the judging but it’s as if it’s just you and your dog.  When the judge finally walks over to shake your hand and give you the winning rosette is magical.

Once married we’ve had a mini schnauzer, standard poodle, and now have a grumpy senior labradoodle and very loveable soppy golden retriever. I did agility training with my schnauzer, who managed to learn his left and right quicker than the kids. Just another ability to connect with your dog. It’s very special. Once we had children we decided to move from London to beautiful Dorset and worked as a teaching assistant, but always wanted to spend my time outside with the dogs.

About Goodwoof Dog Walking

2020 arrived and my dream came true, Goodwoof dog walking was established. My happy place is watching the dogs playing and sniffing about in new places, they genuinely have smiles on their faces. Building a relationship with these dogs brings me nothing but joy, walking with them our bond with each other grows every day and they trust me. Whether there’s a sudden loud noise or we’ve met an over exuberant dog in the forest they have all learnt that I’m theirs and I’m their safe space. If I say it’s ok, they trust me that it is. It’s magical. I understand how important the dogs are to their families, so I aim to provide a reliable, safe service where you return home to a happy, exhausted pooch, dreaming of the day’s adventures.
